Paul Brasch

Paul's Burnside debut, "Find My Way" is a spare and sincere recording that should find the same niche and welcome received by Kelly Joe Phelps. Produced by label mate Terry Robb and recorded at Dead Aunt Thelmas in Portland, Oregon, it features Too Slim and the Taildraggers' John 'Midnight' Cage on spoons/brushes and Damian Coen on harp. Nine of the thirteen songs are original tunes which showcase Paul's talents not only as a singer and guitar player, but as a songwriter with a devotion to country blues. His original material varies from the slight up-tempo and Foot-stomp'n "Keep My Place At The Table" to the mournful "Heel and Toe". His slide and fret work drives the rhythm on "Sweet Tooth" and his finger pickin' on "Goin to Texas" will deliver you, with emotional acuity, directly to the Mississippi Delta. Paul also gives a unique flavor to Hank William's, "I heard that Lonesome Whistle Blow", Dave Dudley's "Six Days On The Road" and utilizes the harmonica and brushes for powerful presence on the Sun House classic "Empire State Blues"
