Too Slim's second release for Burnside contains ten (eight original) songs that prove why this hard-rockin' blues trio is quickly becoming known at "The best Texas blues/rock band not based in Texas." Tim "Too Slim" Langford's guitar playing is often compared to the late Stevie Ray Vaughan and "EI Rauncho Grundge" shows Langford is no mere Vaughan clone. From the George Thorogood approach of Mississippi Fred McDowell's "Shake 'Em On Down" to Langford's self-penned Ventures-tinged title track, this album will make a believer of all listeners.

Fourteen tracks from the hottest electric blues band in the Northwest. Guest appearances from Charlie Musselwhite, Little Charlie (& The Nightcats) and Robert Cray keyboardist Jimmy Pugh make this fourth release the best to date from Too Slim & The Taildraggers! "The Taildraggers play with freshness, skill and, as needed, stage-stomping power, and it makes sense they would be good. "Swamp Opera" is a total package, with sparkling guest appearances and some masterfully varied guitar lessons from Slim Tim".
Ralph Siegel - Associated Press
